This unique building is located at ‘s-Gravelandseweg 59 in Hilversum. The building previously housed the district court and was designed by J.J.M. Vegter. It is a truly remarkable building: seen from the front it has the form of an open law book. It is a striking example of architecture that very successfully combines modernism and traditionalism.

The monumental building is set in a beautiful location surrounded by a park-like garden with plenty of green space in a high quality residential area. In short: this is an iconic, historic, and very impressive building, which could easily be converted into beautiful and stylish office space without the need for a great deal of additional work.

Sale process
The sale of the former district court building will take place by public tender. The state will allow interested parties to enter bids for this property subject to certain requirements relating to financing and spatial planning. Any other requirements imposed by bidders will not be taken into account. The public tender will take place on 5 July 2016.
After the auction, the state will examine the appropriateness of the unconditional and conditional bids that have been submitted. This will include an assessment of the risks associated with the relevant requirements in relation to the amount that has been offered. In particular, any uncertainty regarding the purchase and the period within which the interested party wishes to take ownership of the property will be taken into account during the decision-making process. The state will decide whether or not to accept the bids that have been submitted and will award the sale to the party which has submitted the bid that it deems to be the most acceptable. The state is also free to make the award of the sale conditional on the outcome of integrity and/or solvency surveys.

A more detailed description of the sales process and the applicable terms and conditions can be found in the bid book. You can order a copy of the bid book for €75.
